The United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital Abu Dhabi is spearheading efforts to tap into the potential of its cultural and tourism industry to attract more visitors for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) from China.
UAE ambassador to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri introduced the city's strengths for MICE visitors during a Beijing promotional event. He said that Abu Dhabi is an ideal destination for its renowned Arabian hospitality, reasonable anti-pandemic measures, world-class MICE infrastructure, diverse offerings, and visa-free access and direct flights for Chinese travelers.
"As an innovative, diverse, and tolerant society, the UAE is committed to bringing opportunities for business and exchange to the whole world. We strive to also introduce new possibilities for enterprises, around the world, seeking connections," he noted.
According to Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB), also a co-host of the event on Tuesday, China has long been one of the key source markets for the city, and the bureau remains committed to optimizing and curating its offerings based on the needs of the Chinese MICE visitors.
"As we work closely with MICE and corporate agencies in China, our mission is to ensure visitors have an excellent experience in Abu Dhabi at every touchpoint," said ADCEB Director Mubarak Al Shamsi.
Aiming to strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as a leading MICE destination and attract more visitors, ADCEB has offered value and financial support through 'Advantage Abu Dhabi,' a subvention program aimed at increasing the overall value proposition of the destination by providing clients with end-to-end support. It also acts as a 'one-stop-agency' offering solutions, assistance with event planning, and connections to local MICE experts and industry partners.
The capital city's rigorous health and safety measures and policy support ensure that the Emirate is well-positioned to welcome international MICE groups.
Similar sound services are also seen in the commercial aviation sector. According to Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, China continues to be a key market, with MICE and corporate travelers as essential components.
